How to Play Checkers
- You play as Red. The AI plays as Black (or dark blue pieces). Red always starts.
- Click on one of your pieces to select it. Valid moves will be highlighted.
- Click on a highlighted green square to move your selected piece.
- Regular pieces move diagonally forward one square towards the opponent's side.
- To capture an opponent's piece, jump over it diagonally into an empty square immediately beyond it. The captured piece is removed.
- Jumping is mandatory: If a jump is available for any of your pieces, you must make a jump. You cannot make a non-jumping move if a jump is possible.
- If you complete a jump, and the same piece can make another jump, you must continue jumping with that piece (multi-jump).
- When a piece reaches the opponent's back row (the furthest row from its starting side), it becomes a King (indicated by a K).
- Kings can move and jump diagonally forwards and backwards one square at a time. Kings must also make mandatory jumps if available.
- The game ends when one player has no pieces left, or if a player has pieces but no legal moves available.
- Win by capturing all of the AI's pieces, or if the AI has no legal moves.
